The Codes Enforcement Board held a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 1981
at 7:30 p.m.

1. Chairman Wallsh called the meeting to order. Motion by Mr Pavone, seconded by
Mr. Kircher that reading of minutes be dispensed with. Motion carried by voice vote.
Minutes were approved by voice vote.
2. Mr. Wallsh stated that Mr. Mitchell and Mr. Smerilson had contacted him before
the meeting and had been excused.
3. unffin*shed Business - Mr. Wallsh stated that he had been tasked to prepare a
resolution for the board that they would refrain from reading, hearing, seeing or
observing any news presentation which concerns any situation that might present
itself to the board. The secretary read the resolution.
4. Motion by Mr. Pavone, seconded by Nr . Kircher that the resolution be adopted.
Motion carried by voice vote.
5. Presentation of Filed Affidavits of violations - The secretary presented Case
No. 1 - John H. Yarnall, 303 N.E. Lake Street (C.R. 427) Longwood Florida for violation
of ordinance No. 252 - having abandoned and j unk cars on his property at Longwood Garage
The City Attorney read the affidavit and also a letter from the City of Longwood dated
May 4, 19 requesting that Mr. Yarnall clean his property. After reviewing the
affidavit and supporting documents the board voted 3-0 that Mr. Yarnall should be
brought before board.
6 . Motion by Mr. Pavone, seconded by N5c . Kircher that a special meeting be held
on Tuesday, July 14, 1981 at 7:30 p.m. Motion carried by voice vote.
7. Mr. Rooks stated that this meeting was s=' "liar liar to a probable cause meeting and
that Mr. Yarnall should not be considered guilty of any offense until his case Was
heard in full by the board .
S. NeW Business - Mr. Wallsh asked that all merfbers contact him in the event they
would be unable to attend any meetings. Mr. Wallsh stated that the rules of the
board required that any der who missed two successive meetings without being
excused old automatically forfeit his position on the board. Mr. Wallsh stated
that Mac. Farrell had missed last two meetings Without excuse and Was therefore technically
not a member of the board. He asked Mr. Farrell if he desired to continue to serve
and Mr Farrell stated that he had not urn der s tood , that he was absent on vacation for
the last meeting and that he did desire to continue to serve. All members of the board
then voted to have board chairman submit a letter to the City Commission requesting that
Mr Farrell be reappointed to the Codes Enforcement Board. Note: Mr Farrell did not
participate or vote in any matters of this board this evening .
9. The board adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
