CEB_05-17-83_Minr_ of ( Eitu laf n _ - vet �Jvvb 17.3 Pf cot Parren joriba y 'T 831 -055-5 SINCE 1883 r May 17, 1983 The Codes Enforcement Board of the City of Longwood, Florida met at 7:30 p.m. Present: Anthony Taddeo Harold Myers Fred Ritter Arthur Carullo Virgi (Joe) Pavone Al Cook, Asst. City Attorney Mary Triplett, Secretary Absent; Walter Fleck Charles Kennedy 1. The Codes Enforcement Board was called to order by Chairman Pavone, 2, The secretary called the roll. All members were present except Walter Fleck and Charles Kennedy, Mr. Fleck and Mr. Kennedy notified the board that they would be out of town. 3. Approval of Minutes - 513/83. Motion by Mr. Carullo, seconded by Mr, Ritter that minutes be approved as read. Motion carried by a unanimous voice vote. 4. Public Hearing. Case No, 18, James V. and Lucille P. Farmer (Thomas Mulligan- minor) , 106 Bearss Circle, Longwood, Florida. Violation of City of Longwood Code, Chapter 11, Noise, Sec. 11 -1, 11 -2 (2) and Chapter 12, Nuisances, Sec. 12 -1 ( 6) , 12 -2 ( 5) . The secretary read the Affidavit of Violation and the Notice of Hearing. James V. Farmer, Lucille P. Farmer, and officer Rossi were placed under oath. Mr. Farmer stated that several police officers told Thomas Mulligan that he could play his drums but not too loud. Mr. Farmer stated that he was in the process of building a room that will absorb 70% of the noise. Mr. Farmer stated the drum was moved to the back of the house and his son would only practice one hour a day. Mrs. Farmer stated that her son would only be playing for ten minutes when the police would arrive. Mrs. Farmer stated that they have tried to reach an amicable agreement and would like her son to be able to practice one hour a day. officer Rossi stated that Thomas Mulligan had received several warnings and the warnings were ignored, officer Rossi stated that Thomas Mulligan was still in violation. Mr. Cook stated that the board has two alternatives, the finding of fact or the board can continue the hearing. Mr. Pavone asked if the room can completely be insulated in ten days and he questioned if Thomas Mulligan could stop playing his drums for ten days. Mr. Farmer replied yes. Motion by Mr. Myers, seconded by Mr. Carullo that public hearing be adjourned until May 31, 1983. Motion carried by a unanimous roll call vote. Codes Enforcement Board Meeting - May 17, 1983 5.
