1. CALL TO ORDER — 7:05pm
2. ]PUBLIC INPUT- None
3. STAFF REPORT
a) Halloween — was Saturday, October 27th from 3:30 p.m. until 6:00 pin.
There were vehicles that hosted the trunk or treat, bounce houses, balloon
guys, costume contest, Police Department and Fire Department. Various
businesses were set up. The whole event was a great success.
b) Downtown Longwood Cruise -In — Second Saturday of the month from 4:00
p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Church Avenue
C) Celebrate the Season will be on Friday December 7th from six until nine. We
will have skating going on in the parking lot, Santa and Mrs. Clause, stilt
walkers, crafts for the kids and food vendors from around the world which
will supply food from local restaurants.
d) November 17 and 18 the Historical Society will be hosting the 36` annual
Arts and Crafts Festival.

e) November 30 will be the movie in the park at Candyland Park in the
softball field
Chair Rice asked about an estimate of attendance for the Halloween event. Ms. Meli's
estimate is over 500 children.
Ms. Meli asked the board if they would like to charge for the ice rink. The ice rink can hold
45 skaters per session. Member Shoemaker said no. Vice Chair Bright stated a small fee
can be charged to limit the crowd. The board agreed to a one - dollar fee for a fifteen minutes
session for skating.
4. .ACTIONS ITEMS
A. Reschedule meeting for either January 8th or 1.0 2013.
Chair Rice made a motion to reschedule the January meeting to Tuesday January
8 then retracted
Member Shoemaker made a motion to cancel January meeting second by Member
Rivera - Laguer. Passed 5 -0 -2
B. DISCUSSION ON CHILI COOK OFF
Event date for the Chili Cook Off will be held on September 14, 2013
Member Putz suggestion for the Chili Cook Off is to have 10 vendors against 10
local people.
Member Shoemaker suggested $200 prize for first place, $100 prize for second
place, and $50 prize for third.
Chair Rice suggested the entrance fee for the Chili Cook -.Off could be, Professional
$75 and Hometown $25.
Chair Rice asked about what is the cost for city employees to work the Chili Cook -
Off. Ms. Meli replied $30 /hour which includes wages plus benefits.
Member Rivera- Laguer will research the judging process verses the people choice
process for the Chili Cook Off.
Member Shoemaker will research the method of tasting for the Chili Cook -Off.
Member Putz will research advertising for contestants for the Chili Cook -Off.
Vice Chair Bright will research advertising for event for the Chili Cook -Off.
Chair Rice will research what the City will provide verses what contestants will
provide for the Chili Cook -Off.
