1. CALL TO ORDER — 7:00pm
2. PUBLIC INPUT- None
3. STAFF REPORT
A. Downtown Longwood Cruise -In — Second Saturday of the month from 4:00 p.m. until
8:00 p.m. on Church Avenue, Per City of Longwood Commissioners, it will now be
extended one extra hour.
B. Celebrate the Season will be on Friday December 7`h from six until nine. The holiday
tree will be lit at 6:15pm. We will have skating in the parking lot, Santa and Mrs.
Clause, one dozen crafts for the kids, face painting, balloon artists and food vendors.
C. Reiter Park — City of Longwood is in the process of selecting three Contractors and only
these contractors; will be able to bid on the project. The City of Longwood is looking for
experience and work load from the contractors.
Member Shoemaker asked who is on the selection committee. Ms. Meli replied, Fran
Meli (Leisure Services Director), Pam Barclay (Financial Services Director), and Chair
Lori Rice.

4. ACTIONS ITEMS
A. Approve minutes of the October 2, 2012 and November 8, 2012 meeting.
Member Shoemaker moved to approve the minutes of the October 2, 2012 meeting.
Seconded by Member Bevis, and the motion passed 4-1-2 with Member Putz and
Member Rivera-Laguer absent.
Member Shoemaker moved to approve the minutes of the November 8, 2012 meeting.
Seconded by Vice Chair Bright, and the motion passed 4-1-2 with Member Putz and
Member Rivera-Laguer absent.
B. DISCUSSION ON CHILI COOK OFF
Member Coad discussed her findings on Chili Cook -Off application form. She
suggested that applications be down loaded from the city's website and be paid for via
credit card online or check if dropped off.
Member Bevis discussed regulations and rules for the Chili -Cook Off. The Board
agreed to allow Vice Chair Bright to review the rules and add to the business plan.
Vice Chair Bright reviewed open items on the business plan that need to be answered
before going to the City Commission. Open items: price for trophy's, list of local
business, kid zone area, volunteer needs and staff needs, rental of tables and chairs as a
pass thru cost to the cookers and free places to advertise. Member Bevis would like a
milestone schedule added to the business plans.
The Board agreed the benefit from the Chili -Cook Off would go towards children's
programs in Parks and Recreation in the City of Longwood.
Ms. Meli stated that no business licenses are needed for the Chili -Cook Off as long as
the Board is not selling the product.
Member Coad would like the Board to sell water and soda during the Chili -Cook Off.
Vice Chair Bright will be getting prices on T-shirts with two options of either
front/back or just the front. Chris Capizzi has supplied Vice Chair Bright with the
Leisure Services Logo. Many websites do not charge for setup fee and a larger
quantity lowers the price.
Vice Chair Bright wants to send out a committee letter to vendors by the beginning of
March 2013.
Chair Rice stated the entrance fee for the Chili Cook -Off would be, Professional/Civic
Groups $75 and Hometown/Public Services $25.
Vice Chair Bright left the meeting at 8:06pm returned at 8:08pm.
The Board agreed prizes would be awarded (1) one people choice prize and (1) one
DJ/VIP prize for the Chili Cook -Off.
Member Coad asked if we had a generic banner to use. Ms. Meli replied that the cost
would be $95 per banner.

The Board agreed to have all participants to wear a wristband during the tasting of the
Chili.
5. AJOURNMENT — 8:48p.m.
Member Shoemaker moved for adjournment, Member Coad seconded the motion meeting
adjourned at 8:48 p.m. �
