A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND
ADOPTING THE CITY OF LONGWOO:D DEFERRED
COMPENSATION PLAN AND GOVERNING PLAN
DOCUMENTS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Longwood provides its employees with a 457(b) deferred
compensation plan; and `
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to approve and adopt certain documents governing
such deferred compensation plan, and such governing documents approved herein shall supersede and
replace previously approved and adopted plan documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of
Longwood, Florida, as follows:
Section I. Approval of Plan Documents. The City of Longwood currently provides its
employees certain retirement benefits through a 457(b) deferred compensation plan. The City
Commission of the City of Longwood hereby approves and adopts the City of .Longwood Deferri;d
Compensation Plan ("Plan") and its governing documents, a copy of such Plan. governing
documents are attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. The Plan governing
documents being approved by this Resolution shall supersede and replace previous Plan governing
documents. The City Conunission does hereby declare the intention of the City of Longwood -to
continue the Plan, but reserves the right to terminate or amend the Plan at any time. The members
of the City Commission are hereby jointly and severally authorize the Mayor or the City
Administrator to take such actions and to execute such documents as they deem necessary or
desirable in order to carry out the intent of this Resolution and required under the Plan to make the
Plan fully effective in accordance with its terms and intent. The City Clerk is hereby authorized
to make such certifications to the Plan servicer(s)/provid.er(s) as may be requested to evidence the
City's approval and adoption of the Plan and its related documents.
Section II. Conflicts. Any resolutions or policies in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed.
Section III. Effective Date. TMs resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
