LOCATION: Longwood Commission Chambers 175 West Warren Avenue Longwood, FL 32750 MINUTES Present: Lori Rice, Chair Nikki Bright, Vice Chair (left at 8:06 pm) Judi Coad, Member James Vogel, Member Cathy Ross, Member Dave Putz, Member (left at 8:06 pm) Chris Capizzi, Leisure Services Director Karen Behling, Recording Secretary 1. CALL TO ORDER. Chair Rice called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 2. PUBLIC INPUT. — None 3. STAFF REPORT. Mr. Capizzi stated the Halloween Event was held on October 25, 2014 and was a great success. Mr. Capizzi stated the Downtown Longwood Cruise In was held on the second Saturday of the month from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Church Avenue in conjunction with the Chili Cook Off. Mr. Capizzi stated the Board has brought in $1,850.00 in sponsorship money and currently has twelve cookers signed up. He asked the Board if they wanted to do separate banners for the different sponsorship levels. Member Coad suggested doing a parade for the costume contest next year during the Halloween Event. Member Coad motioned to allow Mr. Capizzi to design the banner for Sorrento sponsors in either one large banner or two small banners, seconded by Member Vogel passed 6-0. Chair Rice asked the Board if they are opposed to four judge's versus three. Chair Rice motioned to have four judge's versus three for the Chili Cook Off, seconded by Vice Chair Bright passed 6- 0. 4. ACTIONS ITEMS A. APPROVE MINUTES FROM OCTOBER 7, 2014 REGULAR MEETING. Member Bright motion to approve October 7, 2014 minutes second by Member Ross. Approved 6-0. B. DISCUSSION ON THE CHILI COOK OFF Volunteer Locations for Board Members will be as followed: Member Ross will cover the tickets Member Vogel will cover the water Chair Rice will cover the cooker coordinators, Member Coad will cover the event time line/judges coordinator Member Putz will cover the Judges/floater Vice Chair Bright will cover the tickets Member Ross stated we currently have fifty two shirts to sell. Current sizes are: Meduim-13, Large-10, X-Large-23, and 2 X-Large-7. The Board agreed to sell T-shirts and caps for $10. Member Coad motioned to allow Member Ross to use her discretion to come up with a combo for tickets/shirts or ticket/cap. Passed 6-0 Chair Rice wants each cooker to be notified of all the rules.. Mr. Capizzi will be contacting all cookers via email a week prior to the event. Member Coad suggested all judges show up by 4:30 to start tasting. Each judge will receive a hat and a certificate of appreciation. C. Celebrate Season Member Coad updated the Board that three arts and crafts have been ordered with a quantity of four hundred. We will have five games for the children to play, all with prizes at the end. We will also be doing tattoos and handing out bags for the crafts to take home. Member Coad sent around a sign-up sheet for volunteers to work the event. Mr. Capizzi stated we will have two different elements to the entertainment. One is Elevate Studios and the other is Pop Shop. Lyman High School will be singing a couple of songs during the lighting of the tree. D. ADJOURNMENT Motion to adjourn by Chair Rice at 8:48 pm.
