A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING THE CITY COMMISSION RULES OF PROCEDURE
BY CHANGING THE TITLE OF THE CITY'S CHIEF
EXECUTIVE OFFICER FROM "CITY ADMINISTRATOR" TO
"CITY MANAGER"; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS,
SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Longwood proposed an amendment to the Charter of the City of
Longwood changing the name of the City's chief executive officer to "City Manager" and the
voters of the City of Longwood approved the amendment at the election held on Tuesday,
August 26, 2014;
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to update the Longwood City Commission
Rules of Procedure to be consistent with the approved Charter amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. AMENDMENT. The following amendment to the Longwood City
Commission Rules of Procedure is hereby adopted in accordance with the City of Longwood
Charter Section 3.09:
Change all references of "City Administrator" and "Administrator" to "City Manager."
SECTION H. CONFLICTS/SUPERSEDE. This Resolution shall supersede any
previous rules, policies, procedures, or resolutions to the extent of any conflict with this
Resolution
SECTION III. SEVERABILITY. If any portion of this Resolution is finally
determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unconstitutional, unenforceable, or
void, the balance of the Resolution shall continue in full force and effect.
SECTION IV. EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
