A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD,
FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE UPDATED CITY OF
LONGWOOD STORMWATER MANAGEMENT MASTER
PLAN; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR
ALL OTHER PURPOSES.
. WHEREAS, in conjunction with the State of Florida and Seminole County regulations,
the City of Longwood ("City") is required to develop, implement and update a Stormwater Master
Plan ("Master Plan" ), assessing hydrologic and hydraulic systems within the City; and
WHEREAS, the City's Consulting Engineer, Pegasus Engineering, LLC, has updated the
Master Plan in accordance with federal, state and local government regulations; and
WHEREAS, the updated Master Plan addresses, among other things, the requirements
needed to mitigate chronic flood areas, stormwater capital improvements, level of service
standards for new development or substantial re -development, City permit requirements, and
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements; and
WHEREAS, adopting the Master Plan is a precursor related to complying with FEMA's
information requirements under the National Flood Insurance Program and serves as a basis for
the City's Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance under Chapter 4.5, Longwood Development Code
of Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission find that the adoption of the updated Master
Plan, is crucial for the improvement and preservation of public health, safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA:
. Section 1. Adoption of Stormwater Manamement Master Plan. The Mayor and
City Commission of the City of Longwood, Florida, hereby adopt the updated City of Longwood
Stormwater Management Master Plan, attached hereto by reference.
Section 2. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.

In follow-up to a recent Community Assistance Visit (CAV) conducted by representatives of
the State Floodplain Management Office (Bureau of Mitigation) within the Florida Division of
Emergency Management, the City of Longwood is pleased to transmit new technical data for
the Stormwater Master Plan as itemized below.
0 Phase I —Aerial Mapping
• Phase II — Drainage Structure Inventory
• Phase III — Existing Conditions Analysis and Stormwater Modeling
Although this information is being transmitted pursuant to Resolution No. 15-1372 which
was approved by the City Commission on February 16, 2015, it is important to emphasize
that the City will not be pursuing a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) to officially change flood
hazards and risks.
