18-1477 Establish a Step Pay Plan for Non-Union EmployeesRESOLUTION NO.18-1477 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A STEP PAY PLAN FOR NON -UNION EMPLOYEES;__ PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND "--_ AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Longwood, Florida, has determined that the current pay range system should be amended for all non -union employees; and WHEREAS, a Step Pay Plan has been developed and provides a minimum starting pay and four percent (4%) increases between each step. The increase reflects a cost of living and merit for performance, which is dependent upon the successful achievement of a satisfactory performance appraisal, and WHEREAS, the City Commission is agreeable with the pay adjustments as presented in the Step Pay Plan and has determined that implementing the Plan for all Non -Union Employees is appropriate and are in the best interest of the City NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Longwood, Florida, as follows: SECTION I. The Step Pay Plan for Non -Union Employees that is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" is hereby approved by the City Commission. SECTION II. Conflicts. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. In accordance with Ordinance No. 18-2145 Step Pay Plans may be adopted or amended by resolution, thus any previously approved Step Pay Plans that are inconsistent with the Step Pay Plan approved by this Resolution are hereby repealed and replaced by the Step Pay Plan approved herein. SECTION III. Severability If any section or portion of a section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other section or part of this Resolution. SECTION IV Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect upon final passage and adoption. PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 171h DAY OF September, 2018.
