AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA,
AMENDING THE CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES REGARDING THE
PROVISIONS ON THE CITY OF LONGWOOD POLICE OFFICERS' AND
FIREFIGHTERS' PENSION TRUST FUND TO AMEND ARTICLE VI.,
BOARDS, COMMISSIONS, COMMITTEES, DIVISION 4. CITY OF
LONGWOOD FIREFIGHTERS' AND POLICE OFFICERS' PENSION
TRUST FUND BOARD OF TRUSTEES, SECTION 2-394, MEETINGS;
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, SEVERABILITY, REPEALING ALL
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to give the firefighters' and police
officers' pension trust fund board of trustees flexibility on when to conduct meetings; and
WHEREAS, the City Commissioner finds that the amendments to the city code
reflected in this Ordinance are in the best interest of the City.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Amendment. That Article VI, Division 4, Section 2-394, Meetings,
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Longwood is hereby amended to read as
follows (underlined words are additions; 6tFiGken_thFGug" language are deletions):
Sec. 2-394. - Meetings.
The firefighters' and police officers' pension trust fund board of trustees
shall meet at least quarterly each year on the ♦hind Tuesday of the month
SECTION 2: Codification. Section 1 of this Ordinance shall be codified as a
part of the Longwood City Code, such provisions may be renumbered or re -lettered to
accomplish such intention, and the word "Ordinance", or similar words, may be changed
to "Section," "Article," or other appropriate word. The City Clerk is granted liberal
authority to codify the provisions of this Ordinance as contemplated herein.
SECTION 3: Conflicts. To the extent this Ordinance, or any provisions thereof,
conflict with any previously enacted Ordinances of the City of Longwood, Florida, this
ordinance shall control only to the extent any such conflict(s) exists. Any resolution or

policy of the City that conflicts with this Ordinance is repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
SECTION 4: Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase,
or portion of this Ordinance, or application hereof, is for any reason held invalid or
unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion or application shall
be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent provision of such holding shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof to the extent practicable.
SECTION 5: Effective Date. That this Ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption by the City Commission.
