22-1601 Grant Application for the Community BuildingRESOLUTION NO. 22-1601 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA DIVISION OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS CULTURAL FACILITIES PROGRAM REQUESTING $75,000 FOR THE COMMUNITY BUILDING AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING AN AMOUNT OF $155,000 AS THE CITY'S REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS WHEREAS, the city of Longwood has the opportunity to apply for funding in the amount of $75,000 for the Community Building, with the stipulation of a 2 to 1 in matching funds; and WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $155,000, necessary for the required match will be available no later than July 1, 2023. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The the above recitals are hereby adopted. SECTION II. That the City Commission hereby authorizes the use of $155,000 in eligible expenditures to be available by July 1, 2023, for required matching funds for a grant application to the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs in the quest for funding for the Project. SECTION III. CONFLICTS/SUPERSEDE. This Resolution shall supersede any previous rules, policies, procedures, or resolutions to the extent of any conflict with this Resolution. SECTION IV: SEVERABILITY. If any portion of this Resolution is finally determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unconstitutional, unenforceable, or void, the balance of the Resolution shall continue in full force and effect. SECTION V: EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall take effect immediately. PASSED AND RESOLVED this 16th day of May 2022, by the City Commission of the City of Longwood, Florida.
