A RESOLUTION OF CITY OF LONGWOOD, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AND
SUPPORTING METROPLAN ORLANDO'S APPLICATION FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 2022 SAFE STREETS AND ROADS FOR ALL (SS4A) DISCRETIONARY
GRANT OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION INCLUSIVE OF A LOCAL MATCH OF TWENTY
PERCENT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, as part of the new Federal Transportation Bill, Infrastructure Investment and
Jobs Act (IIJA), there is over $1 Billion of roadway safety funding available in the form of the
Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grants which MetroPlan Ordinance is/has applied for grant
funding for the Fiscal Year 2022; and
WHEREAS, the City of Longwood desires to authorize and support MetroPlan Orlando's
application for the Fiscal Year 2022 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Discretionary Grant
Opportunity Program to the U.S. Department of Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Longwood desires to commit to its portion of the local match of
twenty percent of the study plan related to the City of Longwood as contemplated by
MetroPlan Orlando's application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LONGWOOD,
FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Recitals. The foregoing findings are incorporated herein by reference and made a
part hereof.
SECTION II. Grant Application Authorization and Support. The City Commission hereby
authorizes and supports MetroPlan Orlando's application for the Fiscal Year 2022 Safe Streets
and Roads for All (SS4A) Discretionary Grant Opportunity Program to the U.S. Department of
Transportation. The City of Longwood commits to its local match of twenty percent not to
exceed $35,000 for the study plan related to the City of Longwood. MetroPlan Orlando has
requested that the City of Longwood sign and provide a letter of support for such application
addressed to the U.S. Department of Transportation; the City Commission hereby authorizes
such letter of support by the City of Longwood be signed and sent as requested by MetroPlan
Orlando.
SECTION III. Conflicts. All resolutions or part of resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions
of this Resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION IV. Severability. If any section or portion of a section of this Resolution proves to be
invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity,
force, or effect of any other section or part of this Resolution.

SECTION V. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage and adoption.
