Alt -Bowes, Recording Secretary Absent: David Putz. Chair 1. CALL TO ORDER. Vice Chair Sackett called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. 2. ELECTION OF OFFICERS A. Chair. Member Coad nominated Larissa Morgan. Seconded by Member Rice Nomination carried by a unanimous voice vote with Chair Putz absent. B. Vice -Chair. Member Rice nominated Judi Coad. Seconded by Chair Morgan. Nomination carried by a unanimous voice vote with Member Putz absent. 3. PUBLIC INPUT. Commissioner Abby Shoemaker, 877 Woodgate Trail, Longwood, Florida 32750. Commissioner Shoemaker offered congratulations to the Chair Morgan and Vice Chair Coad. She said she was speaking tonight to wish the Board a very happy new year and to thank them immensely, from the bottom of her heart, for all of their successes. From the events last year, and for all that she knows they are going to do this year. She said they are the hardest working Board, in her opinion, and she loves them and thanks them. P&R 1-10-2023/1 Mayor Matt Morgan, 1678 Grange Circle, Longwood, Florida 32750. Mayor Morgan said congratulations and he wanted to come to thank the Board for their whole year of service, as well, but really, Celebrate the Season. If he could have one (1) day to live the rest of his life, every single day, 365 days a year, it would be that day. The joy, and you all know why you volunteer your time to do this. You got a chance to see how important it is, what you all do for this community. All the smiles on those kids faces, and the parents, they got to see live reindeer and that was insanity. It was so much fun and it is really drawing the line on success, because last years was outstanding and I said the same thing last year. He said this year was incredible and he wanted to thank you all because you all also work the events when these are times you could be spending with your family and doing a thousand other things. He said thank you all for your service to this community. You do all of the cool and fun things that our families love. He said keep them coming and that he is excited about the camp out. He can't wait for that and National Night Out. He said he is very proud of you all but Celebrate the Season was just off the hook. It is the most impressive event he has ever been a part of and that is saying something. He said you all have a lot to be proud of and we have a lot to be thankful to you all for making it happen. 4. ACTION ITEMS. A. Approve Minutes from December 6, 2022 Member Carroll made a motion to make a correction to Item A to add absent to the end of the sentence. Seconded by Member Rice and carried by a unanimous voice vote with Member Putz absent. Member Sackett moved to approve the minutes from December 6, 2022, as presented. Seconded by Vice Chair Coad and carried by a unanimous voice vote with Member Putz absent. B. Discuss dates for 2023 Celebrate the Season and Christmas Parade Mr. Capizzi said choosing dates for Celebrate the Season, the Tree Lighting and the Christmas Parade are a little more clear cut than what we originally thought. He spoke with Member Rice who had a great idea. We are going to lump items B and C in together and discuss the tree lighting event as well. One thing that was discussed was possibly having a tree lighting separate from Celebrate the Season which makes sense if we are going to have Celebrate the Season over a week into December. It looks like we are going to have to keep the parade the same date next year because if we put the parade date on the second Saturday of the month, then we would run into the Car Show. He said he hates to cancel the Car Show because December is one of the biggest months for the Car Show because the weather is gorgeous. We did take a poll of quite a few parade goers. Mr. Rinaldo said we asked the question about the parade being the first Saturday, the second Saturday, and/or no preference and two (2) participants had said the first Saturday, seven (7) participants said the second Saturday and nine (9) participants who responded had no preference. He said that those who showed a preference for the P&R 1-10-2023/2 second Saturday responses were very flexible as well and that they would still attend if the parade was on the first Saturday. Mr. Capizzi said that staff wanted to reach out and to obtain some feedback on the matter. We missed a regular this year with Top Trucks because he was having some family matters to attend to and he knows we will have a good crowd signing up next year as well. Mr. Capizzi said that staff would like to take the tree lighting out of Celebrate the Season. We have so much going on with Celebrate the Season that we would benefit from freeing up some space if we moved the tree lighting away from the event. The City pays a good amount for lights and decorations so we would prefer to get our monies worth out of the Christmas tree and the lights and turn them on right after Thanksgiving. Discussion ensued about the dates for the events. It was recommended by staff that the Tree Lighting occur on Thursday, November 30th with the Holiday Jazz Concert, the Christmas parade occur on Saturday, December 2"d and Celebrate the Season occur on Friday, December 9th. He said Commission Sackett had brought up about possibly doing Celebrate the Season and the parade on the same day or weekend and while it could be doable, it is a lot for staff. All of you know how much work goes in to Celebrate the Season. Board members arrive well before the event but Mr. Rinaldo and I are there at 10:00 a.m. putting things out. This past year we closed the parking lot the night before and that worked out for us because we didn't have to ask anyone to vacate the parking lot. He said he thinks it is a good idea but it would be really tough to do both the events on the same day or weekend. Having said that, we would love to get your feedback on any of the things I just mentioned and if you all have any other additional ideas, he would love to hear it. Discussion ensued with regard to the options available for the December events. Member Rice made a motion to co -locate the Christmas tree lighting with the Jazz Concert on November 30, 2023. Seconded by Member Carroll and carried by a unanimous voice vote with Member Putz absent. Mr. Capizzi said that he wanted to mention that next meeting he will be bringing up the possibility of changing the route of the parade. He is meeting with the Public Works Department, the Fire Department and the Police Department next week in reference to the parade route. It has been requested to bring up looking at the parade route by Commissioner Boni so what he is going to do first before he brings anything to the Board is to ask the Police Department and Public Works if a route change would be feasible. Discussion ensued with regard to the parade route possibly changing and it possibly being brought up next meeting if safety and logistics are not a concern. Vice Chair Coad asked if he was talking about crossing over 434 as the parade route. P&R 1-10-2023/3 Mr. Capizzi said no. He said the parade would still be located along Ronald Reagan. The only thing that would change is possibly changing the side of the road that it is on. Member Rice asked if staff needed direction from the Board on the dates of Celebrate and the parade at this time. Mr. Capizzi said he thinks it was more along the lines of the tree lighting and he thinks we have established that. C. Discuss having a tree lighting event separate from Celebrate the Season See above S. BOARD MEMBER REPORTS. Member Rice reported and said Happy New Year to all and that this is going to be a great year for all of us. She said she knows that the Chili Cook -Off is going to be phenomenal. We have more teams than the fall. She looks forward to being there early on Saturday. The following Tuesday is National Night Out, January 17th at Candyland Sports Complex and she also looks forward to that. She said she has not communicated since the holiday with staff regarding National Night Out and she would like to ask the fellow Board Members if they are still available for any volunteer spots that they may have signed up for in October. She asked board members to just let staff know so they know what spots need to be filled. She said the one large difference she can see with the timing change, besides the possibility of frigid weather, is darkness early. Any participants that are setting up a tent might want to have their own lighting. Mr. Capizzi said we are going to have them on the ballfields and we will have the ballfields fully lit but we were thinking about getting a tower light too just for the area alongside the bathrooms. We don't really put vendors in that area, but people still traverse the pathway to go get the hotdogs so the one tower light would basically shine on that area. We will have the ballfields light on early for the vendors to be able to set up and the parking lot is well lit now. Discussion ensued with regard to National Night Out, Chili Cook -Off and the Great American Camp Out. Member Rice said the other thing she would like to mention (which was something Mayor Morgan brought up at the last meeting) was the fact that at Reiter Park there are sometimes events that could make well use of a rollout walkway. She said especially when the lower area is wet. Mr. Capizzi said Mrs. Alt -Bowes did some good research and we are purchasing a fifty -foot (50') walkway that is three feet by fifty feet (3' x 50'). Discussion ensued with regard to the walkway. P&R 1-10-2023/4 Member Rice attended most of the holiday events and said good job to everybody. She said it was lots of fun and she is glad it is over. Member Carroll reported and said Happy New Year to everybody and that she is looking forward to a great year this year. She said she would start with Celebrate the Season and said the ticket sales went smoother with the new prices. Discussion ensued with regard to the rides, the requirements, the ticket sales at Celebrate the Season and changes for this year's event. Member Carroll said the Hanukkah event was awesome. She said her children went to that and they said everything was really fun for them. She brought up the possibility of hosting a Turkey Trot or Monster Dash. Discussion ensued with regard to doing an event around Thanksgiving. Member Carroll asked if we had any events for Halloween like maybe a pumpkin carving contest or a costume contest. Vice Chair Coad said we do Truck or Treat where there is a costume contest and we have done the pumpkin carving as well. Discussion ensued with regard to an event for Halloween. Discussion ensued with regard to the quality of service at Dunkin' Donuts and Wendy's on 434 and what the City of Longwood can do about it. Member Carroll said as far as the rocks go, she has been working with the lady that owns Jack the Dipper. She said she is going to get with staff about looking at getting local mom and pop businesses involved. She talked about possibly having them purchase the rocks for $5 or something like that and when people -find the rocks bringing them in to those local business and use them like a coupon. Discussion ensued with regard to the rock project. Member Sackett reported and said she had a great time at Celebrate the Season and said people saw her out and about and told her how happy their children were to receive a letter from Santa. With regard to the tree lighting, maybe there should be a Christmas story or the reading like we have done in the past. She thinks that would add something to the event. On another topic, tt would be nice if we can get caroling organized for next year because she knows there is interest but it just comes up too late for people to commit to. She does not know if we can put that out there. She said she believes John Maingot did it originally. Mr. Capizzi said he spoke with John Maingot about this and he is willing to try and put that together next year. P&R 1-10-2023/5 Discussion ensued with regard to caroling at the senior centers. Member Sackett said she wanted to make sure the Eventbrite link is going to still be open during the Chili Cook -Off so people can purchase tickets online. Mr. Rinaldo said yes but we have switched ticketing companies. It is a better deal for the consumer. He said whether you buy one (1) ticket or ten (10) tickets the credit card fee is only $1.35 where Eventbrite charges $2.35 per ticket. Discussion ensued with regard to the credit card fees for Chili Cook -Off tickets. Member Sackett asked if it was possible to have the Longwood coffee at the Chili Cook -Off to see and maybe sell. Discussion ensued with regard to having the Strongwood coffee at the Chili Cook -Off. Member Ray said she does not really have a report but this is amazing, everything that is happening in January. She asked if there was a sign-up sheet for volunteers. Mr. Capizzi said he does not have the list available but we have had people sign up. He mentioned that Member Putz said he is going to help out with the judging. He will email the list of volunteer opportunities to the Board tomorrow morning. Discussion ensued with regard to the volunteer positions for Chili Cook -Off and National Night Out, sponsors for all of the events, if staff has everything for the Chili Cook -Off, the 131 Fund for all of the events, and marketing/advertising for the Chili Cook -Off. Chair Morgan reported and said Celebrate the Season was great and she was proud of it. She said she talked to a lot of residents that did not live in Longwood that came out. There was a family out of Apopka that almost had tears in their eyes and it made her and Mayor Morgan very happy. It is very well known that Longwood puts on good events and obviously you can't miss Mayor Morgan. One family said that they came and they don't even live here. It made her very proud. She said the light show was fantastic, much better than last year. It is a new year and one of the events that she wants to put on for Longwood is the Longwood Luau. She said she would like to meet with Mr. Capizzi and Mr. Rinaldo and perhaps move it to May to coincide with Mayday in Hawaii. Discussion ensued with regard to the Longwood Luau event. Chair Morgan said she wants to do an event for special needs in April to coincide with autism's month. Maybe do an autism walk? She said she knows the Autism Society of Orlando does a walk but it is out in Orlando and we have a lot of special needs folks here in this area. We could do something in Reiter Park. Discussion ensued with regard to the autism event. P&R 1-10-2023/6 Vice Chair Coad reported and said she wanted to thank this Board and staff for Celebrate the Season and for making it work. She said it is a lot of work and it takes a lot of people. Mayor Morgan said it earlier, she does this project because it makes her smile inside. She asked if we were still doing Barkfest. Member Carroll said yes, we are and it is in March. Vice Chair Coad said the Jazz Festival was wonderful this year and the Christmas Jazz band from Lyman High School did a beautiful job. We had the most perfect beautiful evening to sit out that night and listen to them and we had three (3) food vendors. We have come back to the agreement that when we do this next year we will just have CERT as our vendor. She said hopefully it will expand especially with the tree lighting next year. We had approximately 300 in attendance and it was just an exciting night. Santa's Breakfast this year overall went extremely well. She knows we had catering issues and we will be discussing that but you all know we really had a hard time finding a caterer. She is grateful that we had someone there that day. We sold 150 tickets and that is a lot of tickets. They were $10 per adult and $7 for children. Santa was there and he was perfect. We also have an elf that is a city employee who volunteers her time and she is just dressed adorable. She said she had lots of comments at both Santa's breakfast and at Celebrate the Season about her and her personality just overflows. We made $975.00 from that approximately and I was the only Board member that attended because I do grandchildren there. It is not a hard event to put on once we find a caterer. The kids love it. She said we do Santa's letters at the event and we had fifty-one (51) letters that had to go back out from just that event alone. She said Mrs. Alt -Bowes is inundated between the two (2) events with over two hundred (200) letters to get back out to these kids and it is wonderful. Some people sat at her table came all the way from DeBary. She said they used to live in the area and they had older children and they think this event is one of the best around. They are willing to make the drive. Member Coad mentioned our lovely little elf and that she is not paid. She put in a lot of hours and time, her costume is adorable and I would like to ask this Board if we can give her a $50 gift card as a thank you on behalf of the time that she put in for us at Celebrate and at Santa's breakfast. Vice Chair Coad made a motion that we provide a $50 gift card to Rachel as our Ms. Elf to Santa Claus for the holidays. Seconded by Member Carroll and carried with a unanimous voice vote with Member Putz absent. Member Coad asked if the Board got to read the synopsis for all of these events and said that the synopsis provides some numbers in front of you to look at. She said our total out of pocket cost of what we didn't collect in tickets or sponsorship putting on that huge event was $8,910.00 and she thinks that is a pretty low -price tag for everything we provided considering the lasers alone are over $6,000.00. She said she is starting backwards with this but she was just really thrilled with that. We were talking about tickets and we usually sold about five hundred (500) to six hundred (600) tickets every season for whatever we were putting on with Celebrate the Season. We sold two thousand one hundred and forty (2,140) tickets this past season. She said the train was our biggest ride at seven hundred P&R 1-10-2023/7 and twenty-five (725), the slide was six hundred and eighty-four (684) and the rock wall was two hundred and three (203) and the snow maze was five hundred and twenty-eight (528). When we come to a decision for next year she would still like to have four (4) rides but we might want to renegotiate whether we do the rock wall or not because it was also $1.700.00. She thinks the location of the wall wasn't advantageous and she is sure that Mr. Rinaldo will be at his little seminar this summer and can perhaps come up with something to fill that one in because it took the least amount of tickets. It was decided that there were between six thousand (6,000) to eight thousand (8,000) people attending and we had approximately thirty (30) volunteers. We will be getting the inventory soon back on the game inventory. If you want to know how quickly I start working on this, I have already sent Mr. Capizzi and Mr. Rinaldo an email and they are going to order for me the Santa Claus ornaments for next year. They are going to be absolutely adorable. They are a Santa Claus in a hot air balloon that says Merry Christmas. We are going to order enough for Santa's breakfast. She asked if everyone got to see the reindeer. Chair Morgan said she had to hold her son back because he wanted to ride the reindeer. Discussion ensued about the reindeer, their handlers and how they were well received. Member Coad said the reindeer were good but the dance performers and the stilt walker were almost $2,500.00 and the dance performances were only on twice at fifteen (15) minutes. She thinks that the stilt walker got lost in the crowd since there were so many people. She said she would not suggest we do it again. In her personal opinion she believes the entertainment on the stage should stay with our DJ providing him all kinds of goodies to hand out along with anybody that might be a free entertainment volunteer next year. She said maybe we can find some local choirs next year that might want to come and sing in between, not massive performances, but something of that nature. Member Coad said we did one hundred and fifty-one (151) Santa's letters and thanked Mrs. Alt -Bowes for all of that. She said the event break down took us until midnight, so that just shows how much it was. She said we start in the morning, actually even before that because we start gathering stuff up together. There is a day that Member Rice comes and helps me do costumes and we inventory prizes. Member Coad said we had lots of sponsorships and she hopes we have a lot more next year. Her goal is always to have a sponsor per game. Next month she would really like the Board to delve in to how we need to expand sponsorships all over our programs. Member Coad said selling tickets in two locations could work. Between selling them sooner and without having the lighting of the Christmas tree people could start earlier on the rides. She said we lost about twenty (20) some minutes with everything starting late that night. This year the train gentlemen, or whoever had the train had informed us he was not staying a minute past his time frame that he was booked. She said that is a new issue for us but we have always known that we had to cut tickets off around 8:30 p.m. to get everybody out and about. With this many people we are probably going to have to just figure that out. She thanked Mr. Capizzi for refunding people's money that had a few issues. She appreciated that on all sides. With regard to safety, we had a couple of issues at the event. P&R 1-10-2023/8 She said there were a couple of lost children and we also had a child that had seizures in the maze. She said we talked about this from other events and she does not know what the problem is but, in her opinion, the fire department is right here and it took forever to get somebody down there to that maze. She said it is the same issue that she has made a complaint about before when we had someone right behind the fire department go down at the pirate's event. She said Mr. Rinaldo was there when it happened and she was there. She said she does not think it is our problem, but it is a problem the we definitely need to address with the fire department. She said the fire department has a gator utility vehicle. The Gator that goes around during the Fall Festival so she asked why are we not having them do this with an event this large. Mr. Capizzi said he did discuss with Chief Peters and we are going to have a unit out for Celebrate the Season and start putting it out for the larger events like the Fall Festival. Discussion ensued with regard to safety and the fire department at events. Discussion ensued about the parking across the street at South Seminole. Member Coad said next year we won't have the sound system expense that we had to pay for this year for the tree lighting. Mr. Rinaldo said the $600.00 that is listed here is the sound system for the laser light show and DJ Dennis. He said it was our sound system that was at the tree lighting. Vice Chair Coad said for the 131 Fund for the Christmas Parade we had expenses of $1,600.00 for advertising but we did not budget anything for the parade per the paperwork and asked about sponsors. She said when the parade started with COP's, it was a fundraiser. We need to cover our expenses for advertisement and at least help knock that down. Mr. Capizzi said we do have an amount allotted for the parade but it has not come out of there yet because the expenses were in December. Discussion ensued with regard to the expenses, sponsors, and the budget for the Christmas Parade. Vice Chair Coad said sponsorship has to start now for the whole year and she would like to see whoever has been a sponsor, what they sponsored, how much they sponsored. She said she really thinks that before Mr. Rinaldo came that position was presented from the Commission to us as a Board for someone to be very much in charge of the issue of sponsorship. She said we to can help with that and she thinks we need to have a list of all the city businesses and contacts. We can sit down and get a database/spreadsheet that tracks all of this and we can call ahead of time to let these people know about every single one of our events. Chair Morgan asked if this is something Mrs. Cartagena could do because she can also talk about advertising on their behalf for the City of Longwood. P&R 1-10-2023/9 Discussion ensued with regard to getting sponsorships for all of the events and the sponsorship packet. Vice Chair Coad advised the Board to speak to your Commissioner who appointed you to this Board and ask them if there is anything they want you to bring forward on behalf of what they are doing or any feedback from that Commissioner. She said at least contact them and see if they want to talk and tell them what you have going on and where the board stands on things. She said this is where they get firsthand knowledge. She tries to do it but she does not always make it a perfect job. Member Rice said with regard to the sponsorship and the sponsorship package, she does see some of the updates that Vice Chair Coad is referring to in here and she would also recommend some of the adjusted sponsor levels, kick it up a notch. She said if you can get $1,200.00 you can get $1,750 and she is sure of it. If that is your benchmark, that is all you get. She said her real question is, have we figured out a way for this to be emailed. Mr. Rinaldo said yes, that he can email the pdf link and the people that receive it, click on it and open it. He said the pdf is so large that he can't attach it in an email but he can attach the link that will take them to it on the website. Member Rice asked if Mr. Rinaldo could send it to him like that. Mr. Rinaldo said yes. Member Rice said she does realize the effort in preparing for events. She said most people just don't even realize the amount of time that it takes to get vendors and sponsors. She said it is not that it is hard, but for her and speaking about National Night Out, she has to be very detailed and organized from year to year. It becomes so easy after a while to pull up that spreadsheet, check where we left off, and go at it some more. She said Mr. Rinaldo and I have a system. He sends that email in reference to who was contacted. A couple of weeks go by and whoever he has not heard from (because he updates me with everybody that has responded) is contacted. She said it is a lot of communication and back and forth between Mr. Rinaldo and I and the vendors. She finds you really have to be that organized for every event to remain sane and remain loving the job, or the volunteer position. Most importantly, when it comes up for the following year, the process is simple. Member Carroll asked if Mr. Rinaldo and Mr. Capizzi would touch on Barkfest in their report. She said maybe this time around or on the next report and on the Mother/Son Dance because she knows that is new and she is not familiar with it. 6. STAFF REPORT. Mr. Capizzi said as you all know we have the Chili Cook -Off this weekend along with the Car Show. He has already contacted DJ Don who will be there a little early. Don does a great job with promoting the chilis and goes around to each cooker. We will have the Senior Matinee on January 18, 2023 from 1:30 p.m. — 4:00 p.m. and the movie is Late Night. P&R 1-10-2023/10 National Night Out is on the 17th and we will see you there. The Food Truck Battle is going to be on January 21, 2023 at Reiter Park and we will also have the concert as well. The band is going to be Rockit Fly. They are an extremely popular cover band and have about 8,000 plus followers on Instagram. They're one of the more well-known cover bands in the region so it should be pretty good night teaming that up with the Food Truck Battle. We are hopefully looking for some good weather for that as well. The SMaSH Beer Festival which we do partner with Hour Glass is going to be on January 28 from 1:00 p.m. — 5:00 p.m. at the park and then the last event before our next meeting will be the Ford Mustang Round - Up which will be on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m. He said that is always a fun one to come out and see because you can see some really cool Mustangs. Mr. Capizzi wanted to put out there that he knows the Board usually puts in a recommendation for Santa each year for a gift card and he wanted to bring it up now. Vice Chair Coad asked if we had done that. Mr. Capizzi said we have not and he knows the Board likes to do that so he is going to put that out there for you. The only thing we have not gone through on the Staff Report is the Arts and Crafts synopsis. Vice Chair Coad said she has two (2) questions before she makes a motion for that and she apologizes she thought we took care of the gift card in a prior meeting. She asked if the tickets for the Chili Cook -Off were $7.00 on line and $7.00 here in person. Mr. Rinaldo said that is correct. He said we went to a flat rate for both. Discussion ensued with regard to the ticket prices for Chili Cook -Off. Vice Chair Coad asked about the SMaSH Beer Festival that we partnership. Do we break even, does that cost us, how does that work out in the end? Mr. Capizzi said it really doesn't cost us much at all. He said we have two (2) staff at the event and we are going to have some police officers there as well but other than that we really don't have any costs related to that event. We make them rent the port-o-lets. Vice Chair Coad made a motion to present a $150.00 gift card for Santa for volunteering for all of the events. Seconded by Member Carroll. Member Rice asked what the amount that we did last year and said she believes it was $175. Vice Chair Coad said she asked Mr. Capizzi and Mr. Capizzi said he thought it was $150. Mr. Capizzi asked Mrs. Alt -Bowes for clarification and she advised that it was $175. Vice Chair Coad amended her motion to present a $175.00 gift card for Santa for volunteers for all of the events. Seconded by Member Carroll and carried by a unanimous voice vote with Member Putz absent. Mr. Rinaldo said Barkfest was rescheduled because of the hurricane to March. He is still actively taking registration for that and we are at about $1,000.00 in sponsorship. He said he has been in contact with the past vendors, keeping them up to date and we will have more at the next meeting to talk about that. He said for the Arts and Crafts Festival the city P&R 1-10-2023/11 took in approximately $23,000.00, then after some small expenses and our fee to the Historic Society, our net revenue for this event his year was $10,700.00. He said that is with giving the Historic Society $9,600.00. He said overall, a very good event this year. Vice Chair Coad asked how much longer do we have to keep giving to the Historic Society. Mr. Capizzi said there are two (2) more years on the contract. Member Rice asked about the culverts at the dog park and said she was thinking she would see them painted and/or power washed soon before the ball players started up again and asked if it is on a list to be done. Mr. Capizzi yes, we will have them done before Barkfest. He said we don't want to do it this early because if we do them and paint them now, they are going to get filthy. Discussion ensued with regard to painting the culverts at the dog park. Member Rice informed the Board that the recommendation we made at our last meeting regarding the rear gate is on the Commission Agenda for this coming Monday and she has spoken with three (3) Commissioners. If you haven't and you want to speak with your Commissioners or any of the Commissioners, prior to the discussion they will have on Monday, now would be the time to do that. She said they have been notified of the Advisory Board's recommendation, though they are of their own mind and who knows what will happen. She anticipates there will be some from the general public coming to speak in favor of having the gate. Discussion ensued with regard to the additional gate at the dog park. Chair Morgan asked if there was anything else to be discussed. Member Rice said there was one other item that Member Carroll wanted discussed, the Mother/Son Dance. Mr. Capizzi said the Mother/Son Dance is going to be on the Thursday prior to Mother's Day. He said it will be a similar format to the Father/Daughter Dance since the Father/Daughter Dance has been so successful. We will have the same DJ, DJ Dennis, who is terrific. He really gets the adults involved. It will be at the Community Building at 7:00 p.m. and we will have some light refreshments, snacks and stuff like that. Member Carroll asked how to get tickets. Mr. Capizzi said around a month before we will sell tickets so we can give you all that information prior to the event. Chair Morgan said the next meeting is February 7, 2023 and she thanked the Board for their nomination and she is looking forward to a good year. P&R 1-10-2023/12 Mr. Capizzi said he has one more thing before you adjourn. He said he was informed recently that the July meeting is actually on the 4th of July so we won't be able to have our regular meeting. The following Tuesday after the 4tn of July is also not available.
