A. The “Downtown Longwood Cruise-In” Car Show will be held on
Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in
the Historic District of Longwood.
B. The City of Longwood will host the sixth annual “Chili Cook -Off”
in conjunction with the monthly car show on Saturday,
November 10, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in the Historic
District of Longwood located off of Church Avenue. A taster’s kit
can be purchased in advance for $5.00 or on the day of the show
for $7.00.
C. The City of Longwood will host the Fall Festival Friday,
November 16, 2018 through Sunday, November 18, 2018.
Carnival hours are Friday, 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday,
9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday, 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Vendor hours for Saturday and Sunday will be 9:00 a.m. until
4:00 p.m. Over 150 vendors will line the streets in the Historic
District of Longwood located off Church Avenue. There will be
live entertainment, food and drink.

6. BOARD APPOINTMENTS
A. City Clerk recommends, in accordance with the requirements
of Chapters 175 and 185, Florida Statues, that the City

Commission appoint Ryan Williamson, as the fifth member to
the Board of Trustees for the Police Officers’ and Firefighters’
Pension Plan.

A. Approve Minutes of the September 17, 2018 Regular Meeting.
B. Approve the Monthly Expenditures for October 2018.
C. Approve the award for Janitorial Services to D&A Building
Services, Inc. and approve a purchase order in the amount of
$28,139.69 and authorize the City Manager to execute all
required documents.
D. Approve waiving the rental fees excluding the attendant fee at
the Community Building for Jared Roberson an employee of the
City of Longwood.
E. Approve a purchase order in the amount of $337,974 to Helping
Hand Lawn Care, Inc. for mowing services provided to the City of
Longwood.
11. PUBLIC HEARINGS
A. Read by title only and adopt Ordinance No. 18-2147, amending
Ordinance No. 17-2143 and Authorizing the Issuance of Debt in
the amount of $4,571,304 to finance the South Longwood Septic
Tank Abatement – Phase II Project, Lake Ruth Septic Tank
Abatement Project, Springwood Septic Tank Abatement Project,
and the Ronald Reagan Boulevard (CR 427) Sewer Extension
Project.
12. REGULAR BUSINESS
A. Commissioner Shoemaker requests a discussion regarding
Pocket Tiny Home Communities.

B. Read by title only, set November 19, 2018 as the public hearing
date and approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 18-2148
amending the Internal Revenue Codes for the City of Longwood
Police Officers and Firefighter Pension and Trust Fund.
C. Read by title only, set November 19, 2018 as the public hearing
date and approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 18-2149,
amending the City Code with respect to Homestead Property Tax
Exemptions for certain low-income Seniors.
D. Read by title only and adopt Resolution No. 18-1483, which
amends the Authorized Strength tables in the Fiscal Year
2018/2019 Budget.
E. Approve a Historic District Matching Grant Application (HG 01 -
18) from Longwood Historic Society for the property located at
135 West Church Avenue.
F. Approve the Agreement with the Longwood Professional
Firefighters Association Local 3163 for the period of October 1,
2018 to September 30, 2021 and make this retroactive to
October 1, 2018.
