Senior Matinee will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., Longwood City Hall (Chambers), 175 West Warren Avenue. This month’s feature is Dirty Grandpa. B. City of Longwood will hold a Community Yard Sale on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., Longwood Elementary School, 840 Orange Avenue. The Big Red Bus will be hosting a blood drive during the sale and all donors will receive one movie ticket for their donation. The Sharing Center will have a booth at the sale for donations. Items must be in a bag or box and for a list of prohibited items or questions please contact 407/ 260-3497. 5. PROCLAMATIONS / RECOGNITIONS A. Presentation of the Beautification Award to Danbury Mill Subdivision, located off of Lake Emma Road. B. Proclaiming May 15 through 21, 2016 as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week. 6. BOARD APPOINTMENTS A. City Manager recommends, in accordance with the requirements of Chapters 175 and 185, Florida Statutes, that the City Commission reappoint Greg Vanatta, as the fifth member to the Board of Trustees for the Police Officers’ and Firefighters’ Pension Plan. 7. Approve Minutes of the May 2, 2016 Regular Meeting. B. Approve the Monthly Expenditures for April and May 2016. C. Approve the Monthly Financial Report for April 2016. D. Approve an increase in the amount of $80,000 to purchase order #160283 to PDCS LLC for building department staffing services. E. Approve a request to waive the formal bidding process and approve staff to obtain quotes for construction of a sanitary sewer system on and near the Peninsula at Island Lake Subdivision. F. Approve a purchase order in the amount of $44,978 to Pegasus Engineering for the professional consulting services relating to the Winsor Manor Drainage System Rehabilitation Project. G. Approve an emergency purchase order in the amount of $42,677.84 to Traffic Control Devices, Inc. for repairs of a traffic control signal located at State Road 434 and Grant Street. 11. PUBLIC HEARINGS A. Read by title only and adopt Ordinance No. 16-2088, amending the Longwood Development Code by creating an Opportunity Node Overlay District. B. City Commission to hear a public request for Special Exception (SPE 03-16), from Aluminum Magic, LLC, on behalf of the property owners of 1025 Wentworth Court, to reduce the side-yard setback from 3’ to 0’ for a screen room. 12. REGULAR BUSINESS A. Read by title only and adopt Resolution No. 16-1401, terminating the temporary moratorium on acceptance, processing and consideration of applications for development orders and building permits for properties adjacent to U.S. Highway 17-92 on May 16, 2016. CC 05-16-16/3 B. Approval of a Pilot Project Agreement and an Interlocal Agreement between the Cities of Altamonte Springs, Lake Mary, Longwood, Maitland and Sanford to establish the Municipal Mobility Working Group. C. Read by title only and adopt Resolution No. 16-1402, which authorizes a transportation incentive program to support reduction of individual vehicular travel, and increase Sunrail ridership by provision of alternative travel methods to and from the Sunrail station, utilizing business taxes collected from vehicles for hire to subsidize the cost of such vehicles within the City of Longwood. D. Approval of a Joint Participation Agreement between the State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the City of Longwood for landscaping improvements. E. However, such invitation shall not be construed as a demand, order, or any other type of command. No person in attendance at the m eeting shall be required to participate in any opening invocation that is offered. You may exit the City Commission Chambers and return upon completion of the opening invocation if you do not wish to participate in or witness the opening invocation.
