The “Downtown Longwood Cruise-In” Car Show will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Historic District of Longwood located off of Church Avenue. 5. PROCLAMATIONS / RECOGNITIONS A. District #1 Nomination of the Business Person of the Month Award for January 2016 (Presentation scheduled for January 18, 2016). B. Nomination and selection of the recipient of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Good Citizenship Award (Presentation scheduled for January 18, 2016). 6. BOARD APPOINTMENTS A. District #1 Nomination to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. B. District #2 Nomination to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. 7. PUBLIC INPUT A. Public Participation. 8. Approve Minutes of the December 7, 2015 Regular Meeting and the December 10, 2015 Special Meeting. B. Approve the Monthly Expenditures for November and December 2015. C. Approve the Monthly Financial Report for November 2015. D. Approve a purchase order in the amount of $27,301.04 to Bennett Fire Products Co., Inc. for the purchase of thirteen (13) sets of Turnout Gear. E. Approve a Special Event Permit and fee waiver for the Mustang and Ford Powered Car Show to be held on February 27, 2016. 11. PUBLIC HEARINGS A. Read by title only, and adopt Ordinance No. 15-2081, a petition for the vacation/abandonment of a portion of utility easement on 113 Shomate Avenue. B. The City Commission to hear a public request for Special Exception (SPE 07-15), to reduce the requirement for the applicant to document uninterrupted State of Florida Massage Therapy Licensure from 3 years to 2½ years. 12. REGULAR BUSINESS A. City Commission to reconfirm their support for the proposed context sensitive improvements planned for Ronald Reagan Boulevard. B. Approve a contractual agreement with PDCS LLC and Universal Engineering to provide inspection, plan review, and Building Official services on an “as needed” basis. C. Read by title only and adopt Resolution No. 15-1392, extending a temporary moratorium on acceptance, processing, and consideration of applications for development orders and building permits for properties adjacent to U.S. Highway 17/92 until June 30, 2016. 13. Persons in attendance at the City Commission meeting are invited to stand during the opening invocation and Pledge of Allegiance. However, such invitation shall not be construed as a demand, order, or any other type of command. No person in attendance at the meeting shall be required to participate in any opening invocation that is offered. You may exit the City Commissio n Chambers and return upon completion of the opening invocation if you do not wish to participate in or witness the opening invocation.
